| | Advanced Skill-Building for Park Personnel | | This alternative three-day, 24-hour training class is provided as an alternative to the two-day, 16-hour Leadership Skills for Park Personnel Class. Building on the knowledge and understanding participants gain in the 16-hour class, this training gives participants time and opportunities to practice what they are learning. Whereas the core course provides a solid grounding in what to do as a leader, the Skills course provides practical help, experience and understanding about how to do it. NOTE: This course can also be provided as a one-day follow-up and refresher for folks who have completed the 16-hour class. | | Course content: Participants are led through a series of skill-building exercises that help reinforce confidence in carrying out the duties of leaders and supervisors. Key elements of this training are giving clear work direction, providing feedback, redirection and praising, active listening skills, appropriate delegation, and addressing performance problems. | | This course meets the needs of those leaders and supervisors who want more time to practice their leadership skills. |
