| ESTIMATING PARK LEADERSHIP TRAINING COURSE COSTS 2010-2011 |
| If you want to do a quick estimate for the two-day, 16-hour Leadership Skills for Park Personnel Course: $167 per participant is a fairly safe bet; the actual price will more often than not be lower. The estimate includes travel and per diem -- (although my travel is part of the contract and should not be charged against your travel ceiling, if you are tracking travel expenses). A more detailed itemization of expected costs is listed in the price schedule below.: the final price is established via a contract or purchase order. I am on the DOD Central Contract Register. I am also a certified Small Business. Remember, this if a full two-day course with no travel expenses for your people. Thirty people in a class is my upper limit. I will do the training session for as few people as you like, but the unit cost per participant goes up (duh!). In some cases, I can reduce the price for smaller groups when linked to team building sessions. If your site is remote, travel expenses may boost the overall cost above $167 per person. On the otherhand, if airfares are relatively cheap, the cost can dip as low as $150 per participant. At times in the Pacific West Region, funds have been available from the Regional Training Office to partially offset the costs, bringing the cost down to $90 per participant and them paying the rest. Regardless of the quick calculations, if you truly want to bring the training to your park or office, talk to me. Some "pioneer" incentives are available in regions and offices where I have yet to establish a reputation for the training class. |
